More Than Ever Our Greatest Success is Your Good Health!

In this time of anxiety over contagious viruses, Apex Health would like to offer some hope and encouragement in this situation. Doctors are pointing out that if your immune system is healthy, you are able to resist viruses. Your body was designed to fight off “invaders” which it does on a continual basis. There are viruses and bacteria in the air at all times. It is when your immune system is compromised that you are at the greatest risk.

So, during this pandemic we want to encourage you more than ever to build up your immune system, and to remind you that building your immune system is one of the greatest benefits of our product, Aloe Apex. As you know all of our products contain our patented aloe vera, but it is most aloe vera per serving is in Aloe Apex.

Dr. Wendell Winters, Associate Professor of Microbiology, University of Texas, Health Science Center at San Antonio, reported that aloe vera contains at least 140 substances which control cell growth and division, reduce inflammation, stimulate the growth of white blood cells (microphages) and other immune-function cells, in addition to acting as a wound healer and infection fighter. Dr. Winters calls aloe vera “a pharmacy in a plant.”

Jesse Clark Jr., President of the International Aloe Science Council also has said, "The most exciting news about aloe is what it can do for the immune system."

Aloe vera is packed with immune-boosting polysaccharides which help the immune system to function properly. Our patented bifurcated aloe ensures you are getting all the benefits of both the leaf and the gel portion of the plant. And while we believe that Aloe Apex is an important part in assisting the proper function of your immune system, we also want to encourage you to include the following advice from medical doctors and experts:

1. Eat a healthy diet. Get plenty of nutrient dense foods such as green, leafy vegetables, healthy fats and good protein. A car with bad gas does not run well.

2. Avoid stress as much as possible. When we're stressed, the immune system's ability to fight off antigens is reduced. That is why we are more susceptible to infections. The stress hormone corticosteroid can suppress the effectiveness of the immune system. Do your best to get regular exercise which helps dissipate the effects of stress. Take a walk in nature and/or listen to calming music. Avoid watching to too much news, except to stay updated. Watch funny movies or read uplifting, inspiring books and articles. Focus on the positive. Count your blessings. Where your brain goes, your body will follow.

3. Avoid sugar. Both sugary products like desserts and snacks, as well as carbohydrates that turn into sugar such as white flour products. According to WebMD, “Eating or drinking too much sugar curbs immune system cells that attack bacteria. This effect lasts for at least a few hours after downing a couple of sugary drinks. Eat more fruits and vegetables, which are rich in nutrients like vitamins C and E, plus beta-carotene and zinc. Go for a wide variety of brightly colored fruits and vegetables, including berries, citrus fruits, kiwi, apples, red grapes, kale, onions, spinach, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Other foods particularly good for your immune system include fresh garlic, which may help fight viruses and bacteria, and old-fashioned chicken soup. If you do come down with a cold or the flu, a bowl of chicken soup can help you get well faster, one study shows. Some mushroom varieties -- such as shiitake -- may also help your immune system.” Two other benefits of Aloe Apex are that it helps normalize blood sugar levels and increases your nutrient absorption.

4. Get enough sleep. According to the Mayo Clinic, “During sleep, your immune system releases proteins called cytokines, some of which help promote sleep. Certain cytokines need to increase when you have an infection or inflammation, or when you're under stress. Sleep deprivation may decrease production of these protective cytokines. In addition, infection-fighting antibodies and cells are reduced during periods when you don't get enough sleep. So, your body needs sleep to fight infectious diseases. Long-term lack of sleep also increases your risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease.”

5. Use proper hygiene – Washing your hands is critical to avoiding the spreading of germs (at least 20 seconds). Keep your hands away from your face. Studies have shown that washing your hands with warm water and regular soap is just as effective as hand sanitizer so don’t stress out if your local store shelves are empty of that product.

And, of course, follow the advice of medical and government officials as regards to minimizing exposure to large crowds, especially if you are in an area where there is a coronavirus outbreak, and if you are 60 years or older, or have existing health issues.

We are confident that we will get through this, including the economic effect, as a nation. And it is our hope that this newsletter helps keep things in perspective and offers some peace in a very turbulent situation. We have survived the West Nile virus, SARS, the Bird Flu, the Swine Flu, Ebola and the Zika virus. Proper health and prayer are our best protection.

And to help our valued customers, our monthly Web Special features Aloe Apex, so you can stock up on it while supplies last.

Best of health to you and yours,
Duane Hughes

Aloe vera is safe for all ages, but you may want to check with her doctor first. And, of course, not given if allergic.
